Your role in our team:

As the Maintenance Manager this role ensures the smooth operation of our automated facility. Reporting to the Site Manager, this role oversees all aspects of equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. From developing and implementing maintenance strategies to managing a team of skilled technicians, this role will optimize processes to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency while upholding our commitment to excellence.

Ideal Candidate profile:

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and accountability for all maintenance shifts of the 24/7 automated facility
  • Create and maintain reports, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and general analysis of daily faults
  • Collaborate with Site Manager to review maintenance procedures and maintain customer service levels
  • Ensure maintenance teams are optimized and staffed accordingly, managing headcount, overtime, and team performance
  • Oversee the upkeep and proper use of Witron Computerized Management System and maintenance schedules, ensuring adherence to planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance
  • Be a motivated team builder, coach and trainer fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maximize machinery availability targeted, planned and unplanned repairs
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all departments and leaders
  • Oversee parts and tools inventory, implementing cost control measures, and providing monthly headcount, parts, and cost forecasting
  • Build close ties with other Witron sites and headquarters in Germany to facilitate guidance and knowledge best practice sharing
  • Be on call as per the escalation procedures and respond efficiently to minimize machinery downtime
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical/electrical or related fields, preferably with an engineering degree
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role in maintenance or manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in fundamental maintenance principles and advanced skills in 5S principles
  • Experience in both unionized and non-unionized environments an asset
  • Willingness to travel to different sites during the training period 
  • Analytical nature with the ability to problem solve and prioritize multiple tasks and workloads
  • Ability to implement systems and to lead by example
  • Prior manufacturing startup experience an asset
