Technical Sales and Design Engineer

General Summary

 

The Technical Sales and Design Engineer serves as the primary support specialist for the WITRON Business Development & Engineering team. Collaborating with internal business partners and external clients & vendors, a successful D&S Engineer will integrate the wide array of intra-logistics solutions offered by WITRON with our customers’ specific and results-driven demands to design and deliver innovative and highly-effective automated warehouse solutions.

 

With experience and strong performance, the Technical Sales and Design Engineer may have further opportunities to advance into project and/or account management responsibilities in support of our business development, engineering and project realization / installation teams.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as a liaison between potential customers and WITRON’s design center in Germany
  • Work with potential customers to define design requirements and collect data
  • Work with colleagues to analyze data and present analysis results to potential customers
  • Present designs to potential customers
  • Assist in project hand-over to project management team once a contract has been signed

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a customer-facing technical role
  • BS Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred; or a 4-year degree in a related field required

 

 

Skills & Knowledge

 

  • Basic knowledge of industrial automation and warehouse operations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey ideas, pitch products/services, and build relationships.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Experience in leading and motivating teams, delegating tasks, and fostering collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and resource allocation to make informed decisions and optimize ROI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Knowledge of German language helpful but not required

 

Scheduling & Travel

 

  • During the initial training phase, the D&S Engineer will spend intermittent periods of several weeks or months at WITRON Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany
  • Availability to travel frequently to various locations in the U.S., Canada, and Europe
