PLC Commissioner

Salary Range: $65k-$75k
The PLC Commissioner serves as the primary Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technical expert for the support of WITRON’s proprietary automated material handling systems. Collaborating with global business partners and onsite service teams, a successful PLC Specialist will design, test, troubleshoot, and maintain various PLC systems and their related technology.
As a PLC Comissioner, you will:
- Design, program, test, and resolve faults for PLC-related architecture for automated material handling applications
- Collaborate with various internal IT professionals to understand the complex nature of WITRON’s robust digital infrastructure and its application to practical solutions for its customers
- Work with onsite teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Analyze and proffer solutions for new system designs or redesigns of existing systems
- Approach all tasks with an efficiency and efficacy mindset
- Act as the SME for all PLC related automation issues
- Provide critical PLC support for the installation and startup of new WITRON systems
- Travel extensively in support of onsite team
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or closely related field preferred; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Familiarity with PLC programming, especially in industrial applications, is a plus
- Previous electrical experience is a plus
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of industrial automation
- Knowledge of PLC programming
- Understanding of electrical motors and servo motors
- Basic knowledge of AC and DC control systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics (experience with AutoCAD is a plus)
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical control systems
- Interact with customers in a professional manner
- Work effectively in team and individual settings
Scheduling & Travel:
- During the initial training phase, the PLC Specialist will spend intermittent periods of several weeks or months at WITRON Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany
- Availability to travel frequently to various locations in the U.S., Canada, and Europe (approximately 70% or more)
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
- Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
- Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Working in ambient, fresh (34°F), and frozen (-15°F) conditions
