Human Resources Director

The Human Resources Director provides strategic and operational direction, advisement and insights to all facets of HR for the U.S. with an employee population of approximately 1200 with a projection of 20% growth in the next two years. The HR Director partners with organizational leaders, Site Managers and HR team members to create HR strategy to build an efficient and effective HR department, equipped to support leadership and organizational growth. The HR Director partners with other HR professionals in our Germany headquarters as well as HR Directors/Managers at other country locations.  

 

The Director of Human Resources will uphold high standards for HR practices and provide hiring and development support to leaders, ensuring that those they manage possess the skill sets and cultural fit necessary to deliver quality work and results for the business.  

 

Tasks/Responsibilities 

  • Understand, contribute to, and support the overall evolution of Witron as a business. 

  • Become thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the intersection of the HR value proposition with the direction of the company. 

  • Ensure personal/team alignment with the mission of the organization and the evolution of the culture of the company. 

  • Establish working relationships based on personal trust, commitment, and responsiveness with the department leaders. 

  • Understand business and growth strategy and articulate how the HR team will support the strategy. 

  • Lead the ongoing management of core HR policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to the latest regulatory requirements and guidelines in accordance with business operations and practices. 

  • Effectively lead the business in the execution of engagement and retention practices that support unique business needs and align with long-term enterprise goals and objectives. 

  • Ensure the organizational focus on people and inclusion, helping to instill a cultural mindset rich in advocacy, diversity, and support. 

  • Ensure teams are aligned to facilitate seamless operation 

 

Experience 

  • 10 years of experience of Human Resources with experience in a generalist role, managing all parts of HR  

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing/logistics/supply chain sector 

  • Minimum 2 years experience managing remote HR team members in a multi-site work environment 

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing challenging employee relations issues, coaching leaders on problematic issues and experience with proper documentation 

  • Knowledge and experience in managing compliance related activities 

  • Managing multiple vendors for HR support 

  • Developing HR scorecard and KPIs 

  • 2 years experience managing safety related activities, worker’s compensation and administration 

 

 

Education and Certifications 

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred  

 

Skills and Knowledge 

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws 

  • Dedicated commitment to supporting and advising executive leaders  

  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple priorities 

  • Team-player and demonstrates a willingness to work with all Witron team members 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 

  • Exhibits good judgement and takes the initiative to get problems solved 

 

Travel 

  • Travel of 20% within the United States in support of our operational sites as needed
