Health and Safety Coordinator

The Health and Safety Coordinator supports and promotes WITRON’s established health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment across all site operations. This traveling position is responsible for daily safety walks, managing training and compliance documentation, conducting orientations, tracking PPE and equipment, and investigating incidents. The role also includes weekly and monthly safety reporting, subcontractor oversight, and support during audits and planning meetings. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about workplace safety in an industrial or construction environment.
Primary Responsibilities

Conduct daily safety observation walks to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

Manage site safety documentation, including training records and permits (e.g., hot work).

Oversee PPE and safety asset inventory and distribution.

Investigate safety incidents and near misses, track actions, and follow up on corrective measures.

Participate in and report on weekly GU planning meetings.

Debrief on weekly minutes and safety concerns.

Compile and submit the weekly safety reports.

Deliver Toolbox Talks to reinforce site-specific safety themes.

Manage and track badge distribution and access.

Conduct subcontractor safety walks (minimum twice per week).

Review subcontractor certifications and equipment inventory for compliance.

Maintain incident responder rosters.

Update and maintain the site safety board.

Ensure the site contact list is accurate and accessible.

Participate in phase planning with construction and operations teams.

Review and contribute to the quarterly time-off and staffing plan.
Education & Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety coordinator or equivalent role, preferably in an industrial or construction environment.

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.

OSHA 30 preferred.

Experience conducting training, incident investigations, and writing reports.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with multiple stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Scheduling & Travel

Flexibility to work shifts 1st and 2nd shift - operate 7 days a week

90% travel required
Physical Requirements

Work at heights of up to 80-100 feet
