Construction Manager

We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the installation of electronic systems on our Automated Material Handling Systems at project sites throughout the U.S.  This role ensures the proper execution of all electrical installation tasks and coordinates closely with the GC Construction Manager, Project Managers, and WITRON subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise subcontractors during electronic system installations and adjustments.
  • Coordinate construction and installation activities, including timelines and milestones, with subcontractors and the GC Construction Manager.
  • Communicate and resolve critical issues related to timelines, safety, layout, and other project concerns with Project Managers and technical leads.
  • Monitor project schedules and contractual deadlines; escalate and coordinate solutions when issues arise.
  • Lead construction meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and maintain construction logs.
  • Prepare and update construction and installation documentation.
  • Perform quality control checks and approve/release electrical or mechanical areas.
  • Brief subcontractors on site codes of conduct and safety requirements.
  • Conduct secondary safety checks to ensure compliance across all construction areas.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an electrical and/or mechanical role; construction experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in Industrial Technology or Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with material handling systems in light industry or distribution environments is a plus.

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong electrical skills (3-Phase, 480V, DC, and 24V controls) and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with drive technology (motors/gears) and control systems (PLC, inverters).
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in electrical measuring techniques.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Knowledge of German is helpful but not required.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Initial training includes several weeks at WITRON Headquarters in Parkstein, Germany.
  • Frequent travel to project sites across the U.S. and Canada.
